Our biggest achievement is giving the environment a voice and representing the needs and wants of all Australians who share the vision of a sustainable Australia.Only with your support have we been able to help preserve our Australian way of life for future generations to enjoy by:
- Having some of our most beautiful icons, such as the Blue Mountains, Uluru and Kakadu declared World Heritage areas.
- Saving the Great Barrier Reef from oil exploration and having it declared a Marine Park, to allow the unique marine life and coral species to flourish.
- Preventing the beautiful Franklin River in Tasmania from being dammed and preserving some of the world's most breathtaking wilderness areas.
- Successfully lobbying a Federal Parliamentary Inquiry to recommend that proposed uranium exports to Russia should not proceed.
- Delaying construction of the Traveston Crossing Dam.
- Successfully lobbied state and federal government to commit to lift new housing regulations to five star standards in 2005 and to go beyond five star this year to six star.
- Working with local communities on Atauro Island in Timor Leste to construct 14 compost toilets in 7 villages to promote better sanitation and health well being for the islanders and to protect the coastal ecosystem.
