Guy Abrahams
Guy is completing a Masters of Environment at Melbourne University in the specialist stream of governance, policy and communication after former careers as an art gallery director and a lawyer. He collaborated with the Australian Conservation Foundation to create the Green Gallery Guide and now wishes to effectively advocate for environmental sustainability and combating climate change.
Harry Aitken
Harry Aitken is a secondary school student at Trinity Grammar School. He is editor and photographer of the school magazine and founder of “The Leak” a student newspaper. Harry is a senior member and co-ordinator of the Wombat Bushwalking/Environmental Club, a state swimmer, a member of the school debating team and a surf lifesaver and instructor with the Woolamai Surf Life Saving Club. As a climate change presenter he would like to be able to open peoples’ eyes to the threats of climate change.
Richard Ambrose
Richard is a Business Information Manager for Australian Motoring Services Transport. He wishes to help drive transport industry initiatives and policy toward more sustainable models. Richard has also been an AFL footballer and has extensive experience in community television. He says his major hope would be to make a real and meaningful difference.
Febby Andryananto
Febby is a diplomat with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia and responsible for formulating Indonesia’s policies on development and environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity, and sustainable forest management. He had participated in several multilateral environmental meetings including United Nations climate change conferences. Currently, he is studying Master of International Development and Environmental Analysis, at Monash University, Melbourne.
Matt Armstrong
Matt Armstrong is an investor, an agro-forestry consultant, a model boat enthusiast and an owner builder? of three passive solar homes. Matt taught maths and science for six years and has had 10 years of farming experience. He is a committee member of the Apollo Bay Sailing Club, is on the management committee of the Otway Agro-forestry Network, is on the (which school?) school council and community garden committee of Apollo Bay College and a member of the Apollo Bay (surf) Board Riders.
Giulia Baggio
Giulia Baggio is Climate Change Co-ordinator at the ACTU working with unions, workplaces and other organizations to promote strong climate action and advocate progressive policies. She was a journalist at ABC TV and Radio for 15 years before joining the ACTU.
Geoff Barbour
Geoff Barbour is a project officer with C+BUS Superannuation Fund and lives in Fitzroy. He is President of the North Yarra Community Health Centre and Treasurer of the Fitzroy Residents’ Association. Geoff’s interest in environmental issues began in the 70s and continues to the present day. He holds the view that we can begin taking concrete steps immediately to address serious environmental issues. As a climate change presenter he hopes to contribute to the spread of knowledge in the community about practical steps people can take to lessen environmental impacts.
Bruce Beatson
Bruce Beatson still works as a farmer after more than 40 years and is a self confessed reformed climate change cynic. "I had to change my mind when I saw with my own eyes what was happening to my farm in Gippsland." Since completing The Climate Project - Australia training Bruce has been delivering the presentation on global warming to whoever will listen. "It is impossible to deny climate change is happening, we have to take action now. That is what motivates me."
Lisa Boothby
Lisa Boothby is a self employed management consultant who lives in Hawthorn. Until recently she was a board member of the Goodcompany and Ormond College, is a member and regular player at the Kooyong Tennis Club, is a member of the Hawthorn Climate Change Forum and is treasurer of West Hawthorn Pre School. She has a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA. She worked at Accenture (Anderson Consulting) for 6 years and has been consulting in the non-profit sector part time for the last five years.
Danae Bosler
Danae Bosler is an organiser and educator at the Community & Public Sector Union in Melbourne. An environmental awareness began young - thanks to all those bushwalking trips in Tasmania with her parents. Danae loves giving presentations and running training on climate change, and reckons human beings have an amazing ability to step up, take action and create real change in our world.
Clare Bowditch
Clare is an Australian songwriter and comedian with a big family and a great passion for supporting the work of the ACF and in particular, The Climate Project. In 2006, Clare won an ARIA for Best Australian Female Artist, and has just completed the recording of her fourth album, Modern Day Addiction. Like most people, Clare is a ‘non- skeptic’.
Ella Boyen
Ella Boyen is Regional Manager with Conservation Volunteers Australia and lives in Alice Springs. Before joining Conservation Volunteers Australia Ella was a park ranger and environmental education consultant, and then environment manager for the Ayers Rock resort. She is a volunteer with the Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service.
Paul Buczma
Paul Buczma is a graduate environmental engineer who lives in Ivanhoe in Melbourne. He is very interested in making the link between faith and the environment. He is heavily involved in the Ukrainian community and driven by delivering a message of faith to ethnic minorities and those on the social fringe. He hopes to address apathy and helplessness by empowering communities to drive change.
Leigh Cato
Leigh Cato is a freelance communications strategist who lives and works in Windsor in Melbourne. She has previously worked in the green sector and helped develop Greening Australia’s Breath Easy concept. She has written a book called The Business of Ecology and she is currently researching a follow up book. She hopes to engage people to take action through desire rather than fear around climate change.
Leo Mualdy Christoffel
Leo is a Policy Analyst for the Indonesian Ministry of Trade who is currently based in Melbourne. Leo says that because Indonesia is amongst the most climate vulnerable countries, he wants to learn more about how to combat the climate change and build network of people sharing the similar interest.
Rachel Coghlan
Rachel is a Climate Change Policy Advisor for World Vision Australia. Rachel has a special interest in the impacts that climate change will have on human lives and health. She believes that advocacy for action on climate change needs to communicate that the economic and social transition that is needed to address climate change should not be seen as a painful economic cost, but as a valuable investment in a more sustainable and healthier future for ourselves, our children and our grandchildren.
Ian Cook
Ian leads World Vision International’s Corporate Engagement activities. His goal is to help large corporations change the way they impact the world’s poorest communities. He believes climate change is the greatest threat facing humanity and that it will impact the poor most profoundly.
Jane Crouch
Jane Crouch describes herself as a home economist who has worked in nutrition, outdoor education and energy conservation as well as a responsible travel manager spending some time working for Intrepid. She lives in Ripponlea in Melbourne and has travelled to Timor Leste as a volunteer. She is looking forward to playing an active role in making a difference to protect Australia and helping to make some positive changes towards stopping dangerous climate change.
David Curry
David Curry lives in Pennyroyal in country Victoria and has been passionate about living sustainably for more than 30 years. He has been involved in rehabilitating the West Australian wheat belt farm and lives on a revegetated dairy farm. David works in natural resource management encouraging farmers and the community to return natural systems to their natural balance. David believes it’s time take action and make people aware of the steps they can take to alleviate the climate crisis and begin living in a sustainable way.
Defah Dattner
Defah has broad Project and General Business Management experience in manufacturing and the building industry. She is always seeking new experiences and opportunities to widen her capacity to help integrate sustainability principals at a management level to bring about tangible change. Defah is positive and curious about the future, excited by the innovation and design which will help to secure a safe climate.
Linh Do

I think what I would most like to contribute to the environmental discussions of the summit is that, politicians need to quit playing politics and engage with the Australian people in changing the way we live for the better.
Linh is a university student who lives in Maidstone in Melbourne’s west. An experienced climate presenter, she ran the Change A Million Light Bulbs campaign and has worked with Red Cross. Linh was featured in the Climate Project documentary ‘Telling the Truth.’ Being a young person, she emphasises that her generation will live through many of the effects of climate change.
Rowan Dowland
Rowan Dowland currently holds the role of General Manager Development with Victoria’s largest financial cooperative. mecu is the 1st credit union in the world to become a signatory to the United Nations Environmental Program’s statement by Financial Institutions on Sustainable Development and the Environment.
Rowan’s prior experience within the areas of real estate, public housing, industrial relations, and consumer affairs has provided him with opportunities to develop skills in sales and marketing, policy and strategy development, change management and leadership. Now actively involved in influencing, developing, and implementing the future direction of mecu, Rowan recognises the importance of sustainable development as an enabler of innovation and change and for developing business which better satisfies the needs of the company's stakeholders.
Ross Edwards
Ross is a Sustainability and Environment Manager for a large Melbourne based property and business group. As a former geology student, Ross has been aware of accelerating CO2 levels for many years. He wishes to gain some new tools and ideas to persuade and influence others that climate change is something that must be acted upon.
Stuart Elliott
Stuart Elliott is a part-time stay at home Dad living in Glen Iris. He gave up his high powered international job commercialising biotech products to stay at home with his children and complete a green retro-fit of his family home. He has alternated between giving business strategy presentations in boardrooms in public companies in Australia, the US and the UK and volunteering at the local childcare centre and kindy. He is an engineer by profession and says he is passionate about the topic of climate change and willing to devote a large part of his life to make a difference.
Kate Ferguson
Kate is an Environmental Engineer and has worked in international emergency relief for 15 years. Having worked in a range of disparate workplaces, from atop an Antarctic glacier, to African refugee camps, to Latrobe Valley's dirtiest industries, she wants to demonstrate how climate change is a common demoninator across them all and how we all have an ethical obligation to act.
Tim Forcey
Tim Forcey of Sandringham is an engineer in the energy industry. In 2006, Tim helped found the Bayside Climate Change Action Group. Tim finds presenting climate change to diverse audiences around Melbourne to be very rewarding.
Ken Gannon
Ken Gannon is sporting administrator of the Australian Football League. He lives at Druncondra and says he sees climate change as the biggest threat to long term users of green open spaces. Ken says he was motivated to apply to become a presenter in order to secure the long term security of his sport – AFL.
Abby Gee
Abby Gee is a lecturer and event manager based in inner city Melbourne who was involved in the recent Sustainability and Spirituality Forum event with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. She says she is deeply concerned about environmental issues and believes education will play a critical element in driving change.
Marcus Gibson
Marcus Gibson is National Environmental Manager for civil construction company Fulton Hogan, based in Melbourne. Marcus has a diverse professional background including author, software developer, business analyst, knowledge manager, and sustainability professional in a range of sectors including media, IT, engineering, pharmaceuticals, property and construction, and is a member of the high IQ society Mensa. Marcus has been a Climate Project presenter since 2006, and has delivered the presentation to 4,000 people in board rooms, schools, RSL halls, public marquees, and music festivals around Australia. Marcus is adamant that climate change is the most important challenge faced by modern civilisation, requiring collaboration between industry, government, media, and civil society, but that the solutions required also create the greatest opportunities for all areas of society. He enjoys meeting climate change skeptics from every walk of life, and discussing their points of view.
Nick Gibson
Nick Gibson is a primary school teacher who lives in Romsey. He is passionate about science and drama and is currently involved in organising an environmentally-focussed movie festival. He hopes to be able to present his new found knowledge to middle students and inspire students and other teachers to act locally while thinking globally.
Tim Gibson
Tim Gibson lives at Aireys Inlet and is a retired academic. In his working life he was an atmospheric scientist. He is a member of Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society and Clean Up Australia. Tim says he is very interested in alerting young Australians to the dangers posed by climate change and our responsibility as a developed nation to take a lead on the issue.
Penny Gray
Penny has a diverse educational background including economics, international relations and environmental management. She has extensive experience across financial services, online marketing, business and product development and a keen interest and strength in environmental marketing.
Penny joined Origin in 2006 to work on aspects of its environmental offering and was appointed to her current role, National Manager of Origin’s Customer Engagement team in 2008. Penny’s role focuses on the customer strategy, product development and delivery of key messages to Origin customers.
Penny is passionate about delivering a range of credible green product options as well as the opportunity for each and every customer to take the first step in their own sustainability journey. A challenge made even more exciting as Australia prepares for a carbon constrained future.
Annie Guthrie
Annie Guthrie is a management consultant who lives in Junortoun. She has addressed mining companies in the past and is a member of the Australian Institute of Management. She has recently completed training toward completing a 210 km bicycle ride around the bay with 10,000 other bike riders. Annie believes a critical mass of support is required to make the changes needed to stop dangerous climate change.
David Jones
David Jones lives in Sedgwick where he is the Mayor of the City of Greater Bendigo. He is a teacher and says he has been a committed environmentalist for 15 years. David is looking forward to engaging people in a deeper understanding of climate change and giving them hope and solutions to achieve the changes needed.
John Jones
John Jones was once a school principal in his home town of Bendigo where he has seen the realities of climate change illustrated by severe water restrictions in his region. John has worked with people from diverse backgrounds and has a passionate interest in conservation.
Lisa Kendal
Lisa is Executive Officer of Ballarat not-for-profit Renewable Energy and Zero Emissions Incorporated. Lisa hopes to develop and improve her knowledge and skills to communicate effectively about climate change and to empower people to work collaboratively to act locally.
Josi Khatarina
Josi is Deputy Director of the Indonesian Centre for Environmental Law in Melbourne. Josi was the coordinator of Indonesian Coalition for Freedom of Information Act in Indonesia (2000-2003) and the Indonesian FOIA was passed in 2008. Josi would like to help in mainstreaming climate change in Indonesian law and policy.
Jason Kimberley
Jason Kimberley is an author and photographer living in Melbourne’s Middle Park. Perhaps his most exciting work to date is Antarctica A Different Adventure which chronicles his 16 day sledge hauling trip with Peter Hillary across Horseshoe Valley at 800 south. Jason established the Melbourne Futuremakers project and has a background in retail, building and hospitality.
Helen Lane
Helen Lane lives in Hamilton and is a research project co-ordinator. She is involved with her local soul singing group as well as FutureMakers local environment action group.
Simon Le Gear
Simon Le Gear is general manager, procurement and environment at NAB. Simon led the Climate Change Carbon Neutral Program for NAB as well as its Green Team community which now includes more than 100 volunteers. He is also a member of the South Melbourne Life Saving club and his amateur football club. He has worked extensively in Asia and the developing world prior to returning to Australia.
La Vergne Lehmann
La Vergne Lehmann lives in Dimboola, Victoria where she teaches a variety of age groups of students about conservation and land management. Her family runs a carbon neutral tourism accommodation business near Little Desert National Park where she plans to maintain a healthy natural environment for the future and the seven children in her family. She is secretary of Dimboola Little Athletics and on the Wimmera CMA Landcare Advisory Committee.
Joel Leske
Joel is Corporate Affairs and Environment Advisor for Kmart and Kmart Tyre and Austo Service. Joel developed a 2020 vision for Kmart to reduce their environmental impact and after extensive consultation; the plan has now been signed off by the business. Joel believes he can influence his company to become part of the solution.
Timothy Mahar
Timothy Mahar lives in Violet Town and retired 15 months ago after a successful career as a teacher facilitator and a secondary school teacher for 30 years. Timothy says he loves his children and four grandchildren which is why he wants to work with the community to raise consciousness and help generate action around climate change.
Kathryn McCallum
Kathryn is a journalist and communicator based in Corio Victoria. Having delivered the TCP presentation to thousands of people, she has been part of social movements that have lead to solar bulk purchases in her region. Kathryn says that if her life has a purpose, it is to heal and integrate the divide between people and nature.
Jo McCubbin
Jo McCubbin is a paediatrician who lives in Sale. She is president of Wellington Residents Against Toxic Hazards and is involved with Doctors for the Environment. Jo has been interested in the environment since she was 10 years old. Since moving to the country she has seen massive bushfires. She believes as a paediatrician she must work for a healthy planet for all children.
Peter Newling
Peter Newling lives in Eltham and works in community development for the YMCA. He said he was astounded by An Inconvenient Truth and would love to help spread the message. Peter is an actor and director and involved in various theatre companies as well as Anglicare as a foster parent.
Gabby O'Dwyer
Gabby is the National Sustainability Coordinator for Bunnings Group Limited which involves engaging the Bunnings team, their families, and the wider communities in more environmental actions. She wants to deliver presentations internally and externally across a wide network of people to increase engagement with the issue of climate change.
Meredith Pearce
Meredith is Deputy President of the Australian Education Union Victorian Branch. She says the Climate Project has enabled her to increase her knowledge of the science/impact of climate change. Meredith is interested in informing people about the issues, discussing possible solutions, listening to people’s concerns and participating effectively in the debate within the union movement, the education sector and wider community.
Russell Peel
Russell Peel is a health and safety environment manager for Foster’s. He is a board member for Sustainability Victoria and involved in the Magnum Yacht Association. He says he would like to help motivate people to act on the issue of climate change.
John Pettigrew
John Pettigrew is a horticulturist and farmer based near Shepparton with extensive knowledge in primary production, business and environmental management. John, a Director of Goulburn Murray Water and the Goulburn-Broken Catchment Management Authority, is locally involved in Landcare and Local Area Planning. He is also a member of the VFF, The Goulburn Valley Environment Group and The Environmental Farmers Network
Rebecca Phyland
Rebecca is an Environmental Educator & Teacher of the Deaf. She hopes to strengthen her profile in these roles and the wider community to enable the estabilishment of sustainability dialogs with persons in management roles in education, land management, and local businesses.
Prue Robertson
Prue is the Climate Change Officer for Frankston City Council. She has previously worked in Greece to protect sea turtles in the Mediterranean and collaborated with His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch organising environmental symposia with top scientists, decision-makers and religious leaders. Prue has recently returned down under determined to make positive things happen for the Australian and global environment.
Doug Rolfe
Doug has a background in science and technology education and renewable energy. He is enthusiastic about being involved in positive community change and is involved in the Transition Towns movement through Transition South Barwon. Doug is currently working as an Environment Officer with a local catchment management authority.
Tim Sansom
Tim Sansom lives at Dromana and is a nursery plant production manager for The Diggers’ Club. He is also involved with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation. As a child, he was a ranger at the Prom and says he has always been a keen student of nature. Tim has a Bachelor of Environmental Management and wants to help people reduce their eco-footprint.
Mike Sewell
Mike is a Director of Market Gap Investments Pty Ltd. He sees a clear need for people to be engaged and involved in making behavioural changes to help drive policy and make lifestyle changes to support initiatives improving the future of the planet. He has a business focus that combines developing cost effective, strategies to help businesses grow and succeed in the SME sector with sustainable business practices.
Jo Tenner
Jo is the Executive Director of Women's Environment Network Australia. She wants to broaden her capacity to engage with women about climate change and be able to communicate confidently within her networks about the latest climate science.
David Toovey
David Toovey is a secondary school student who lives at Beaumaris. He is a house captain and prefect and a volunteer for Riding for the Disabled. David is a Bayside Climate Change Action Group member and is a recipient of the Premier’s Award for his high scoring geography grades. He says he hopes to raise young people’s awareness of climate change.
Adam Valvasori
Adam is the Values Manager for The Body Shop Australia, which strives not only to minimise its own environmental footprint but also run social and environmental justice campaigns to educate customers, inspire action and bring about change. Adam wants more corporates aspiring to have ‘green values’ to raise their voices and lobby our Government for more leadership on combating climate change. This is his favourite planet.
Marc van Beek
Marc Van Beek completed a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering at Delft, University of Technology in the Netherlands in 1994. After graduation, Marc commenced working at Shell International in the UK, the US and the Middle East.
In early 1999, Marc joined Booz Allen Hamilton, a global management consultancy, where he worked with major clients throughout Europe, including: ABN AMRO, BP, Shell, Volvo and Heinz.
In 2004, Marc joined Origin and currently works in the role of Business Manager Origin Carbon, where his focus is on assisting organisations develop innovative and integrated environmental solutions.
Marc is involved with the Good Shepherd Youth and Family Service as well as a community group that is hoping to make its local neighbourhood carbon neutral. Marc hopes to inspire individuals and businesses to become more sustainable.
Shane Wakelin
Shane Wakelin plays for Collingwood football club and is studying a Masters of Business. He grew up in a farming community in South Australia and has made many changes in his lifestyle to reduce his personal environmental impact.
Daniel Walmsley
Dan Walmsley is a computer programmer, performer and artist now based in New York. Dan believes that the creative application of technology can help to educate, entertain and engage people who would otherwise be difficult to reach with an environmental message.
Katherine Wells
Katherine is an Environmental Law and Policy Consultant. She wants to be part of a credible, growing, community climate change movement at such an important time in history. She believes that decision-makers will only take action if they are convinced the public wants action.
Alexander White
Alexander is the Communications and Campaign Officer for the National Tertiary Education Union. He is concerned that a significant number of intellectuals and policy framers are not aware of the urgent need for a policy shift on climate change. He hopes to raise awareness and contribute to the shift in people's perceptions on this issue.
Paul Wittwer
Paul Wittwer is a managing partner of Ningaloo Reef Retreat at Cape Range National Park near Exmouth. He is also a member of FACET (Forum Advocating Cultural and Eco Tourism) and Ecotourism Australia. Paul is an economist turned sea changer who wishes to make a contribution by helping the community understand the challenges posed by climate change.
Tony Wood
Tony Wood is executive general manager, corporate communications and government policy for Origin energy and lives in Hawthorn. He is also a board member and co chair of the Climate Change Task Force, The Committee for Melbourne. He was a pioneering member of Australia’s Business Roundtable on Climate Change, A Case for Early Action.
Michael Zaar
Michael Zaar is involved in the Muslim community and amongst other things, a farmer. He was involved in the establishment of the first truly Australian mosque which included green and reconciliation elements to its design and structure.
