The Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) is calling for Australia’s portion of the Coral Sea to be protected as a no-take marine reserve, making it a safe haven for globally threatened species.

This new protected area would be adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and would extend to Australia’s maritime boundary with Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and New Caledonia. At about one million square kilometres, this new reserve would be the world’s largest.

You can help. Take action and call on the Federal Government to permanently protect this marine treasure. Find out more by reading An Australian Coral Sea Heritage Park [PDF: 6 MB].
