Evergreen Faces provides the opportunity for people to capture positive ageing with their cameras. This year, ACF and COTA Victoria Green Sages are supporting the Evergreen Faces Photography Competition.
With this year’s theme as Seniors for the Environment, the competition is looking for photos that celebrate seniors taking an active role in creating a more environmentally sustainable planet. It could be anything from recycling, gardening, alternative energy or transport to tree-planting, conservation activities and campaigning.
24 finalists will be selected for the public to judge at exhibitions during the Victorian Seniors Festival, to be held from 7 – 14 October 2012. The finalists will be on display at Federation Square, the Seniors Festival Hub in the Lower Melbourne Town Hall, and at participating councils throughout Victoria. The exhibition is a flagship event of the Victorian Seniors Festival.
Entry to the competition is free and open to all ages, plus there’s a fabulous New Zealand trip to be won. The Odyssey Travel Peoples’ Choice Award, a New Zealand trip for 2 people courtesy of Odyssey Travel, will be given to the photographer who polls the highest number of public votes from the exhibitions, and a lucky voter will receive $500.
Entries for the photo competition are open from Wednesday, 1 August to Friday, 31 August 2012. For terms and conditions visit the Evergreen Faces website.
