Cash for containers – tell your state MP we need a CDS
Australians consume over 12 billion in drink containers a year – 522 bottles each. Only 40% of these are recycled – the rest become litter or choke the earth in landfill. If we unleashed a nation-wide scheme, we could recycle almost all containers, dramatically reducing resource consumption and pollution. Ask your state MP to support the CDS.
Mining your pocket for profit
Treasurer Wayne Swan is currently deciding whether to scrap a fuel tax credit that gives $2 billion to miners — a handout that encourages them to use fossil fuels. Tell Swan to scrap the tax.
