The up and downstreams of decades of water misuse in the Murray rivers means we haven't seen a good outcome for our lifeblood in years. Now is the time to demand a plan that restores the health of the Murray Darling Basin.

Building a future from our past successes

As we launch into the environmental challenges 2012 promises to bring, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on the many achievements from the past year. The achievements of 2011 encourage us to set our future goals higher and further, to work for harmony and balance in all our interactions with our environment. With the help of so many Australians, we took some important steps towards ensuring a healthy environment for us all.

The Adelaide Advertiser recently carried a story about a recent United Nations Food and Agriculture report (UNFAO) which signalled that the looming threats to the our Murray-Darling Basin

It’s now or never for the Murray-Darling and the science needs to be right

Both Murray-Darling Basin Authority Chair Mr. Craig Knowles and Environment Minister Burke made no mention of the findings of the CSIRO review when they addressed media about the Proposed Basin Plan yesterday.
