Evergreen Faces winner
David Fletcher from Malvern in Victoria has won the 2012 Evergreen Faces Photography Competition with his eye-catching shot “Endless Respect for Nature.”
The winning photo was chosen by the general public after 24 finalists were exhibited at Federation Square.
The competition encouraged people to celebrate positive ageing with their cameras, and was supported by ACF and COTA Victoria Green Sages.
The competition is a flagship event of the Victorian Seniors’ Festival which took place from 7-14 October. This year’s theme was ‘Seniors for the Environment’, aimed at celebrating and fostering older Victorians’ interest in sustainability and conservation.
In keeping with the environmental theme, the photographs will not be returned but will be recycled, and composted.
Says Gill Walker, Managing Director of competition sponsors Evergreen Advertising and Marketing:
“We were thrilled at the high caliber of entries and David’s photograph was a worthy winner. By recycling the photographs we are also sending an important message to all community groups
The photographs were also exhibited at the Melbourne Town Hall and over 35 participating local councils around Victoria.
